Description:

The City of Bristol is seeking bids for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program Sidewalk Improvements in Bristol’s low-income areas, on Orchard Street. The project funding is provided through a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) from Economic and Community Development. Bid documents may be obtained at no charge by downloading from the web site via the document link noted below.

Bids will be accepted until February 1, 2023 at 2:00 pm, at which time bids will be opened and read. Bids received after the opening date and time will not be considered for award. The City reserves the right to waive any informalities in the bid, to reject any or all bids, and to accept the bid that in its judgment is in its best interest.

Firms submitting bids must be pre-qualified with the State of Connecticut Department of Administrative Services (“DAS”) to perform concrete and/or sitework, and shall include with their bid a copy of a current certificate as issued by DAS. Additionally, any contractor or subcontractor performing any work on this contract must be pre-qualified with DAS to perform said services, and shall include with their bid a copy of a current certificate as issued by DAS.

Each bid shall be in a sealed envelope addressed to the City of Bristol Purchasing Department, identified as "Contract 2C23-047 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program Sidewalk Improvements " accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of 10% of the bidders base bid amount, in the form of a Bid Bond issued by a surety licensed to do business in the State of Connecticut.

The awarded contractor will be required to secure a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the contract award, provided by a surety licensed to do business in the State of Connecticut.

The Contractor will take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed, and that employees are treated during employment without regard to their race, color, religion, gender, or national origin.
